You know what, the older I get the sweeter the little things in life get. Today's post falls into that category for sure. My husband's baby sister (my sis-in-law) who was about 12 years old when I met her, had her first baby 8 days ago and I got to stop by yesterday and see him on my way home from some meetings in Salt Lake. It makes me feel really old for Liz to be a mom. There is nothing like that first baby. Logan was only 18 inches long! What a cute little guy. He looks like my little Tait did when he was a baby. Aunt Shel already loves him. Congratulations to mom and dad Ben and Liz, you are going to be amazing parents. Logan is lucky to be coming into the world with so much LOVE!

Shellee LIVES~
This is such a busy time of year for everyone~ I've had a very intense few weeks filled with football games, (both cheers and tears), photography, a new little nephew (we love you Logan), very little sleep, late dinner with friends, and the list goes on. I spent this past weekend at a beautiful wedding in Las Vegas. Jason and I together took several images, and I am still going over them. I'm excited to share some of them. Here is one that Jason took while I was photographing the bride. I love the lines. There will be more to come!

Amber & Ron
Last week when I left my house to shoot this couple, the skies were really threatening and things were a bit blustery. They had traveled to St George for this session, so it was basically do or die! We went out and the wind gusts just settled down, and it was an absolutley gorgeous night. A storm piled up behind Pine Valley Mountain, and provided us with a deep beautiful sky. We ended up using the weather to our advantage and the results were pretty spectacular even if I do say so myself!
I have to explain these 3 shots. We got out of the cars at our first location and we were experimenting with looks and smiles and so forth. We took a couple smiling shots and then I said to them, "Let's try a serious face." Amber took a second and really tried to be serious. Finally she said, "I'm trying to be serious but I just can't stop smiling! I'm just so happy!" It was really sweet. The photographer in me just kept shooting, and as I edited through the pictures I smiled again at her happiness. It just beams out of her face! Ron is a lucky guy. :)

It's a Psomas Pthing. . .
I had to post these pictures this week. I really enjoy shooting weddings, cross my heart and hope to die, but everyone enjoys a little variety right? The company that my husband works for hired me to take some shots to print for their St George office of some local jobs. I should back up. . . Jason is a civil engineer and has been with a really great company called Psomas (Pronounced S O M A S. . . silent on the "P") for the past few years. In the Psomas newsletter, and on their website, they always write the headers like Psomas Pnews. . . they make fun of the silent "P" it's so funny to me! Anyway, you guys know that St George is totally blue skies most of the time. . . the day I went out to shoot it was raining and I was in heaven. It made for some really beautiful images. I think living down here sometimes we forget how truly beautiful it is. Now I remember. . . and you are about to be reminded!

Brooke & Eric
I am so bad about neglecting my blog. I intend for this to be my weekly blog but it ends up being kind of hit and miss. Brooke and Eric are an absolutley beautiful couple and also some of the most nice people that I've ever worked with. They are so in love and it really just came through in the pictures. You can't buy that! Thanks guys!
