The Little Mermaid & the Snail

Can you tell that the kids are home for the summer? I actually just have a couple of funny shots to put on my blog today. My friend Melissa's kids were here swimming with my kids this afternoon. I could hear the kids playing outside my office window. Pretty soon I could hear them all break into a really obnoxious version of "Under the Sea". . . It was enough to get me out of my chair and outside to see what they were up to. I went out there to find the three little boys in the corner singing the song while the only girl, Sage was swirling around on her back and letting her long blonde hair flow in the water. We all giggled for awhile and we took a picture. The shot of the snail is Sage's brother Josiah. He and Tait found and I quote, "A whole family of snails" I actually have a jar of snails in my house now that I'm not very happy about! It made a fun shot.

Taiter Tot

As a photographer, it's so much work to do your own family pictures. I have really been trying to force myself lately to stay up on it. I had to laugh when I edited these pictures because when I photograph other people's kids, they are always apologetic when the kids won't smile and I always tell them that my kids do it too. The proof is in the pudding!

Kaitlyn Bridals

I really like how this sitting turned out so I thought I would share it on my blog! On a Saturday afternoon about a week ago, I shot this bridal for Kaitlyn. She has been a fun bride for me. We got to know each other quite well creating her custom announcements. Her fiancé, Craig joined us for the bridals and he was just whistling and having a good old time! It was really nice to have Craig there because he could just pick Kaitlyn up and hoist her wherever I wanted to put her! Thanks guys~

Candids for Kel

I shot for my sister at a wedding while I was in Logan recently. . . I thought I would share a couple of my favs! It's always fun to shoot candids because you can just ignore everyone and be creative! Kellee is a great photographer and this bride and groom were the NICEST people ever. Baby Ryen. . .

On my side of the family, I only have one neice and one nephew. They are my sister Kellee's kids, Hunter is almost 5, and Ryen just turned a year old. Until about a week ago, I hadn't seen either of them since Christmas. (HOW in the heck has it been 6 months since Christmas already?) At any rate, Ryen is the only baby girl in the family, and I think she's figured it out already! She's so funny, all girl and her Aunt Shel TOTALLY digs her. One note, her mom, my sister, Kellee was such a poser when she was a little kid and I can see Ryen doing the same thing! That's one apple that didn't fall far from the tree~! We were giving her a bath and I took a few pictures because she was so funny. These are just snapshots but cute!
