Trish & Kris 7.7.07

I had the opportunity to shoot a really beautiful weddding a couple of weeks ago and I am finally getting around to posting it to my blog! First of all, this bride was GORGEOUS, and the groom wasn't to shabby himself:) Secondly, I have to say that Jason shot several of the shots that I am posting. He is such a great candid shooter! Trish and Kris were high school sweethearts, and I LOVE the way they treated each other during the time I shot with them. They got married at her grandmother's house, and it was so beautiful and quaint. There is this little one room old guest house right in the middle of the property that had all these old wreaths hanging in it. Trish showed me how in the attic there were some umbrellas from an aunt or a cousin that had gotten married there many moons ago still hanging in the rafters. The way I understood it, several of the grandkids have been married there. I loved it. The bride got to hang out in that little room so that nobody could see her dress. I'm not sure who the DJ was, I should find out because it rocked literally. . . they played the BEST music! It inspired a little air guitar, and even grandma got busy on the dance floor a time or two! It was a wonderful day guys. Thanks for letting me be part of it!

Fun in the Sun. . . on a personal note!

I had to share a couple of family shots today. Both my husband Jason, and I have had such a crazed busy year. I just had a birthday about a week ago and it reminded me that I'm getting older, and so are my boys,and sometimes you have to stop and just smell the proverbial roses. I have always heard people say that kids grow up so fast but it is getting to the point where I just want to pause their little lives and get a handle on things! I can't of course, but I have made a personal goal to enjoy life a bit more. It takes a surprising amount of effort at times! On that note, some good friends of ours took us out on their boat this past weekend. Needless to say it was one of the hilights of our summer! My 6 year old, Tait, is pretty darn fearless and we were laughing so hard when he actually got up on the board. It was awesome! Zach my 11 year old got up several times too but I must have been chatting away (shocker) during that, because I didn't take any pictures.

Chelsie & Jared

We went out to shoot Chelsie & Jared's engagements the other night and I think it was about the darkest day that I've ever shot on! It was suddenly VERY overcast and then the smoke smog rolled in and we found ourselves basically in the dark! The unique lighting made for some really fun smokey looking shots. They are a really cool couple with awesome style. I had a great time getting to know them a little better. I'm posting a few of my favorites!

Jellystone!

I enjoyed a really great vacation with my family for the past few weeks and as you are about to see, I took pictures nonstop! We enjoyed beautiful Yellowstone National Park. I grew up right near the park but have never been through it! I had forgoten how big the Tetons were! We got to take some great scenic shots, enjoyed family, sang songs in the car, let the cousins get reaquainted, picniced, hiked, complained about hating hiking. . . . We saw spectacular fireworks, used lots of bug spray and listened to the sprinklers clinking back and forth with the windows open at night. (This does not happen in July in St George!) It was like an old fashioned family vacation. We had so much fun!
